I watched Carlos King’s interview with Shamea Mortantangi so you don’t have to — I kid, you should definitely go watch the full thing on his platform. But after sitting through it, the headline is this: Shamea says she’s now under investigation at her NBA job because of what Angela Oakley alleged on Real Housewives of Atlanta, and she came armed with timestamps, photos, and a whole presentation trying to push back on K. Michelle’s club-night story about her mother. I’m keeping an open mind, but buckle up — because some of what she said landed, and some of it had me rewinding the clip like, Shamia, hold on.

She’s Proving Her Innocence — But on What Receipts?

In Carlos King’s sit-down, Shamea told him holding a peach has been yes and no — she’s won with Airwick and Wayfair, but lost friendships and, she claims, possibly a job. Angela Oakley accused Shamea on a recent RHOA episode of inappropriate behavior involving NBA players; Shamea denies it outright, saying she’s been with the league over a decade, there are only a handful of people who look like her in her position, and she takes the work seriously. She pushed back hard: why would she sleep with players when her husband could own the team? — and argued Angela attacked her marriage and livelihood in one statement. Shamea also walked Carlos through her history with Porsha Williams — known each other since around sixth grade, closer as adults, and she once turned down an early peach offer because Porsha said it was her thing. Relatable, sure — but that’s not what puts her NBA contract in the crosshairs.

“With the newest allegations that are being put out there, I’m having to prove my innocence.”

The NBA Might Investigate — but a Housewife Quote Ain’t a Smoking Gun

Here’s the thing — as an HR professional, I’m not saying there is no investigation. But there is no solid proof on camera, and workplace probes tied to what a housewife said on a reality show often move fast and end inconclusive. They might run one just to cover optics on a public platform — we need to do this, cover our bases — then come back with nothing actionable. Shout out to all the HR directors who follow the channel: do you believe there’s a real investigation, or is this the standard “public accusation, quick review, move on” playbook? We can’t prove that right now. Shamea may not lose her job over this, but people will still say she always makes herself the victim. I don’t 100% believe every word, but I don’t 100% disbelieve her either. Who knows?

K. Michelle Painted One Picture — Shamea Brought the Pur Cloth Receipts

On this past week’s episode recap, K. Michelle described hanging with Shamea and her mom at the club — mom’s breasts pushed up, prayer-circle hand-holding, around 2 a.m. energy. Shamea told Carlos that wasn’t her perception at all. She showed timestamped photos: 12:07 a.m. at the venue, home by 2, video of K. Michelle in the same outfit from the episode, and her mother in the same church blazer she wore to a Babyface/Charlie Wilson concert — white suit, coverage up to here, and what looked like a pur cloth, not a bra or breast out. Looking at what she presented, it’s very clear Mama didn’t have her breast out the way K. Michelle painted it. Midnight versus 2 a.m. is still late — but the exaggeration is the issue. Shamea said she told K. Michelle she wanted to get to know her for herself regardless of cast beef, and that got spun into your friends don’t want me around you. That’s the problem with K. Michelle — one thing you don’t think is an issue all of a sudden becomes a whole narrative. Shamea isn’t mad; she’s gathering reunion receipts. For me, lying on me and my mama would be a big issue — but right now that friendship feels more like an alliance than a real bond. Just saying.

Why Can’t You Be Wittier? — and Gerald Finally Left the Office

Sidebar: Cynthia Bailey’s Humble Brag podcast comments about body shaming and the Bigfoot community did not, in KEMPIRE’s read, warrant the reaction Shamea gave — Cynthia was diplomatic and gave grace. Shamea landed a partial point anyway: RHOA has body-shamed since Season 1, and what flew in the early 2000s hits different in 2026 when social media amplifies every read a young fan hears at school. As Maya Angelou said, when you know better, do better. Shamea’s real problem isn’t that she responds; it’s that she doesn’t have another gear — Bigfoot and Sasquatch are low-hanging fruit when Angela’s allegations hit your actual job. Credit where it’s due though — despite years of critical coverage here, Shamea still hasn’t blocked me. Carlos pulled Gerald Mangi out of his office for a cameo, and Gerald said he supports the peach and encourages her to stay when she’s wanted to quit. The rapid fire was rougher: Cynthia surprised her most, Angela is the biggest gossiper and most different off-camera, and Shamea ranked herself a better wife and mother than the group. Solid interview, but did it move the needle? Do you believe her about the NBA investigation, do you believe her over K. Michelle on the club night, and did Carlos King’s platform change how you’re viewing Shamea this season?
