Kandi Burruss sat with V103’s Big Tigger Show — Big Tigger still out while his legal situation plays — and got asked about K. Michelle calling her a mean girl in Atlanta. I already posted that the quote was wrong: K. Michelle was talking about Kandi’s friends, not Kandi. Then K. Michelle hopped on the tweet. Look, the interview is still the news. The agreement is the plot twist. Season 18 is supposedly filming in September, Porsha and K. Michelle are exchanging boos on Instagram, and a misquote just dragged me, Toya Johnson, Rasheeda, and a radio co-host into the same comment section.

The Quote She Answered Wasn’t Even On the Tape

So here’s the thing: I don’t think Kandi even watched this season closely enough to clock what actually aired. K. Michelle talked about the candy-coated clique. She did not, on the show, call Kandi a mean girl. Shamea Morton has said Kandi likes K. Michelle but won’t hang because of things said about people Kandi is actually close to — Toya Johnson and Rasheeda. If you don’t know the Love & Hip Hop of it all: K. Michelle accused Memphis of physical abuse on camera; Rasheeda and Toya denied it. Toya isn’t with Memphis anymore. Rasheeda and Kandi are still thick. That’s the loyalty map. Kandi’s line — mean girls can’t call other girls mean girls — lands like a response to Tamar Braxton, who did call Kandi a mean girl on Speak On It, not like a rewind of RHOA. Shout out to the journalist conducting the interview, but get your quotes correct. Just saying: I actually do think K. Michelle can be a mean girl. This season’s Drew Sidora pile-on is the example. That still isn’t the same as Kandi getting named on Bravo.

“In all fairness, I don’t think K. Michelle was calling Kandi a mean girl. She was calling her friends.”

Not Your Mean Self Being Fair — You Are Absolutely Right

I posted that line on X with the Traitors clip. K. Michelle quote-tweeted: not your mean self being fair. Then: you are absolutely right. I’ve been calling the same two girls mean girls for years. That’s Toya and Rasheeda. Maybe Tamar is a separate barrel. I’m not taking the “mean” personally — I did not reach 45 to let a Housewife define me — but September 25 in New York, in the words of Funky Dineva, you going to pay me for my pain. I’m not surprised the Porsha peace looks real on Instagram. Love you. Loving this song. Thank you, boo, I’ll check in, I got whiskey. Reunion Part 1 looked like a smile fight, not a funeral. That’s the game. Don’t expect a forever friendship. Expect another crash-out. K. Michelle also quote-tweeted RHOA Talk’s clip of the V103 sit-down: actually I didn’t say that, but that lady did say that you was Tigger’s side piece. Pause. That is not Shamea calling Kandi a side piece. That is K. Michelle pointing at the co-host Big Tigger’s estranged wife already accused online — a claim already in a lawsuit lane. We can’t prove what K. Michelle meant. We can say don’t run the wrong narrative.

She’s Not Dropping That Clique for Season 18

Look, Bravo is trying to sell two queens heading into Season 18. Porsha Williams and K. Michelle making nice is good television and good business. It doesn’t make Kandi Burruss suddenly available for a hang. I do not believe Kandi likes K. Michelle the way Shamea’s interview made it sound, and I don’t blame her. Years of friendship with Rasheeda is not a subplot you drop because Atlanta Twitter wants a crossover. I also wouldn’t blame K. Michelle for feeling some kind of way about the whole candy-coated click as Atlanta’s mean-girl board. Maybe. In all fairness, I don’t know if I 100% agree with that label as a citywide fact. I do know Kandi’s “I’m not nice to you if you’re not nice to me” is a Taurus speech I’ve given myself — blunt, not Wendy Williams mean, according to Ila. Kandi saying if she’s a mean girl then K. Michelle was too is the both-sides shrug. The receipts still sit in the Love & Hip Hop archive, not in a V103 prompt that never happened on RHOA.

Pay Me for My Pain — Then Tell Me Who the Mean Girls Are

Y’all already know this franchise will recycle the same two names until somebody actually watches the episode. My take is simple: the question was sloppy, Kandi answered a ghost quote, and K. Michelle still used the moment to put Toya and Rasheeda back on the board while treading lighter on Kandi than she does on Drew. That’s not accidental. Candy runs Atlanta is the caller version; network darling is the Bravo version. I have to be real with you guys: I also used the live to remind you I do not always dump every private text on the timeline the way Speak On It did with Tamar. You only see the explosion. We shall see whether Season 18 films this peace or films the next crash-out. How do you guys feel about that? Was Kandi responding to Tamar’s Speak On It wound, or did production’s favorite mayor just need a soundbite? And when K. Michelle says you are absolutely right, is she thanking the correction — or recruiting the comment section for September? Drop it below. Empire After Dark hits The Green Room 42 on September 25. Here we go.
