Remember when Claudia Jordan dropped on Carlos King’s podcast that someone on the right side of the RHOA reunion couch was pregnant — and it wasn’t one of the main girls on the show? She wouldn’t name names, but she bookmarked the moment hard enough that the internet has been guessing ever since. Now Claudia’s clapping back at everybody who called her tacky for sharing it, and she’s going full villain-era on Carlos’s show again. We covered the initial tea during Tuesday’s takeover; here’s her defense, why production probably hates the scoop, and why KEMPIRE thinks the way she dropped it lands differently than your average pregnancy rumor.
So You Want the Tea — Until Claudia Serves It?
Claudia’s argument is simple: y’all follow the blogs, pay for the shows, and beg for the tea every single week — but the second she says something out loud, suddenly she’s the problem. On Carlos King’s podcast she doubled down, telling critics they can “suck my” whatever and asking why it’s fine when Shade Room, Baller Alert, and B Scott get the drops but wrong when she repeats what she heard on set. Here’s the thing — she’s not entirely off base about the hypocrisy. People do love consuming reunion leaks while performing outrage at whoever says it first. Claudia insists her source wasn’t a cast member or production, but someone in the mix at the reunion who told her she could share it. It wasn’t a whispered “between you and I, don’t tell a soul” moment, she says — it was said in front of cast, crew, and roughly a hundred people, the same way fights and blowups always end up on blogs before the episode airs. She also pointed to her own miscarriage history and said she’s not being insensitive to first-trimester fear. Fair. But that’s where her defense starts to wobble, and we’ll get to that.
“Y’all want the tea until somebody actually says it out loud — that’s the Claudia Jordan problem in one sentence.”
Now Hold On… Who Gave You Permission to Say That?
This is the part Claudia doesn’t seem to fully grasp, and Carlos tried to walk her through it on air. Even if someone on set told her she could repeat the pregnancy news, that someone was not the pregnant woman. Permission from a glam person, a crew member, or whoever was in the room is not the same as the person whose body and announcement you’re talking about. Commenter Blanch nailed it in the live chat: Claudia may have ruined how that woman wanted her pregnancy revealed. And here’s the other element — God forbid something happens during the pregnancy and production asks to edit that moment out of the reunion entirely. Anything can happen in those first months, and several RHOA-adjacent women — K. Michelle, Shamea — have been open about pregnancy loss and how fragile that journey is. That’s why this lands differently than your standard “word on the street says so-and-so is expecting” post. In all fairness, Claudia says nothing she’s ever shared has been false, and I want to be fair here — she’s built credibility on that. But accuracy and timing are two different tests, and scooping a reunion announcement before Bravo gets paid for the reveal is a whole separate offense.
Journalism Degree on the Wall, Desperate Moves on the Timeline?
Sidebar — Claudia Jordan is not some random Instagram journal. She reminded everybody she was hired as an actual journalist at the Providence American newspaper, covered the Million Man March in 1995 on the front page, and still has bylines to prove it. Her editor’s rule was classic newsroom: you can’t print what you can’t prove. So when KEMPIRE says the way she’s been moving lately feels desperate — losing the Fox Soul gig, popping up on every platform trying to go viral, being provocative for a moment — it’s not shade for sport. It’s a read on someone who knows better acting like she doesn’t. Carlos, to his credit, spoke on behalf of production without confirming anything: if there is a pregnancy announcement planned for the reunion, producers do not want that scooped before the women getting paid to tell their stories get to tell them on camera. Claudia heard him. She still doesn’t think she did anything wrong. I’m keeping an open mind, but two things can be true: the internet is fake about who gets to leak tea, and Claudia still overstepped by treating “someone on set said I could” like a green light from the person whose news it actually is.
I Get the Scoop Too — I Just Don’t Run With All of It
That’s the KEMPIRE difference, and I’m going to say it plainly because some of y’all believe everything over here is clicks and likes. I get a lot of information. I do not run with every single story that lands in my inbox. There have been major breaking exclusives sitting in my notes that I chose not to share because the sensitivity behind them was too high — not for likes, not for traffic, not for a viral moment on somebody else’s podcast. Claudia framed her critics as fake while wearing villain-era merch and daring people to clip her rant. Carlos loves that people are talking about his show — let’s be real — but even he understood why production would hate a reunion pregnancy getting scooped. Nikki in the chat said it best: these ladies are of a certain age, pregnancies are riskier, and they’ve talked about that publicly. Claudia wants to be vanilla and only report the faves if that’s what y’all demand. Fine. But that’s not journalism, and it’s not what earned trust looks like on a story this personal.
How do you guys feel — was Claudia tacky for dropping the reunion pregnancy tea, or are the critics just mad she said it first? We shall see what actually airs when the reunion drops. Empire After Dark returns to The Green Room 42 on September 25 — tickets and Patreon watch parties live now. Here we go.
