Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17 Episode 20 — Reunion Part 3 — is the finale of the reunion, and I still think Part 2 was the better hour. I recapped it live on Patreon Sunday, rewatched Monday morning, and the grade didn’t move. Chat had a 1-to-10 poll. Someone typed that this episode could have been an email. Look, 45 minutes in I was already whoa-ing: when are we talking about Porsha Williams, Shamea Morton, and the mamas? Here’s what actually made it to the couch.

The Mamas Signed Releases — Porsha Still Shut the Door

Here’s the thing: I’m not team anyone on this. I know it’s not just a daycare and not just a man — there are layers Bravo didn’t unpack, and dragging the rest to Season 18 without talking is how you get another year of telephone. The mamas are grown. They signed releases. The daughters brought them up. We want the tea. I didn’t need a deep-dive on who slept with who. I did need Scotland to show up before the credits. Porsha shutting Polar down is fine. “We’re not going to be talking about my mother” is a different move on a show that already aired the fight. Shamea chiming in on the K. Michelle–Porsha peace was not her fight — that’s why I keep saying she’s not good at this job yet. No receipts landed all reunion. Shamea’s alleged $100,000 cease and desist on Angela Oakley is corny even if Angela’s Marcus plot was a square peg. Just saying: if production told them to hug it out for S18, the edit felt like that meeting.

“And we’re not going to be talking about my mother.”

The Rooms Were Dirty — That Still Wasn’t the Fight

Shamea says the Dallas rooms were still filthy the next day, they couldn’t even shower, that’s why they skipped dinner. Cynthia Bailey clocks the obvious: y’all still filmed. I’ll stand on it — I’m not saying the rooms were palaces; the little they showed wasn’t “we can’t do the show.” The wound is isolate math: Shamea and Kelli Potter parked in a separate house while the group sat together. I think a lot of that lived in Shamea’s head. Cynthia talking over her — are you done, we not here all day — is friend-of energy that still works. I wouldn’t be surprised if they already edited past the uglier mama beats. Meanwhile K. Michelle’s package opens with Andy Cohen and Porsha hitting “who said that” at the same time and high-fiving. That’s the favoritism note for later. She tries to park the Drew Sidora smoke on somebody not on this cast, then on Nash. Drew says she didn’t even know the old rumor K. Michelle told her herself. People in chat were googling it in real time. I don’t 100% believe K. Michelle when the story keeps changing. I do believe Drew on “I didn’t know.”

Ten Thousand Was a Discount — the Embryo Beat Was Real

Kelli told Claudia Jordan in DMs she paid Phaedra Parks’s firm about $10,000. On the couch Phaedra says that’s a discount — billable hours well over $60,000 — and Kelli had already spent about $250,000 with other lawyers. Let’s be honest: $10K doesn’t buy a courtroom by itself. Paralegals eat that. I didn’t like Kelli’s ungrateful tone. Phaedra needed scenes; Kelli needed a lawyer who would show up. Both can be true. Then Shamea tells Andy the last male embryo didn’t take, no more embryos, she puts the boy-pressure on herself not Gerald. K. Michelle pours into her anyway — she’s been through the process — and I’m sorry for Shamea on that, especially after Cynthia’s podcast left the door cracked. That’s the human hour Part 3 actually earned. The Nash blame, the off-cast rumor dump, the “move forward” hug with Porsha? Convenient. Buckle up if you thought the reunion was going to close Scotland.

This Is the Group — Until NeNe’s Episode Drops

Porsha looks down the couch and confirms it: this is the group, we have a really great group right now. Ultimate Girls Trip with NeNe Leakes is about to get louder, and I’m standing on the reunion love-fest being a game — they don’t like each other. Andy’s already propping Porsha as Atlanta’s face. Callers wanted him off the reunion because he wouldn’t hold both women’s feet to the fire on the moms. I’m keeping an open mind that production will still shake it — Claudia as a Kelli friend-of, not Kandi, not Kenya, probably not NeNe full-time. We shall see who actually gets the contract. How would you guys rate Reunion Part 3 from one to ten? Was Part 2 still the peak, did Porsha bury the only story worth a finale, and is “this is the group” a lock or a dare? Drop it below. Empire After Dark hits The Green Room 42 on September 25. Here we go.
