The P in Potomac is definitely for prison. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the Fulton County District Attorney has filed a felony theft by taking charge against former Real Housewives of Potomac star Mia Thornton, tied to her 2025 arrest at the Atlanta airport. On paper, that carries up to 10 years. I don’t think she’s getting anywhere near that, and I’ll walk you through why. I also have to get into Candiace Dillard Bassett’s clapback at Gizelle Bryant, and the No Chaser TV sneak peek that confirmed something I told y’all at Kempire After Dark. Here we go.

Girl, Don’t You Have a Case to Worry About?

You guys keep asking me where Mia Thornton is, and I keep thinking, why do y’all care? Then I saw a clip of somebody running into her at homecoming in a blonde wig, and the same morning we all woke up to this. Per TMZ, the filing claims Mia and her ex-boyfriend Jared McGriff, who goes by Inc, took furniture and a TV worth at least $5,000 but less than $25,000 on October 28, 2025, from a furnished apartment they rented. She was arrested at the Atlanta airport that November, and y’all saw the body cam footage. We reported on this story almost a year ago. Afterward she posted that she was trying to stay grounded in the middle of chaos. I don’t know why anybody in a furnished apartment would think they’re entitled to the furniture. If I’m remembering the body cam right, she said it was in storage. I have to be real with you guys, I thought she’d give it back and the charges would quietly go away. That’s why we hadn’t heard anything. Apparently not.

“Well, no, our mother likes us. The nerve to carry on about my employment and your own people didn’t even want you on the payroll.”

Up to 10 Years Is the Ceiling, Not the Forecast

Here’s the thing. The headline number is accurate, but the statutory maximum and the likely outcome are two very different things, and this is the part a lot of people skip. In Georgia, theft by taking is graded by the value of what was taken. That $5,000 to under $25,000 bracket is the key number, because it’s a felony punishable by at least one year and not more than 10. So technically, yes, up to 10 years. But in that same bracket a judge has the discretion to treat it as a misdemeanor, which caps it at 12 months. Georgia also has a first offender program, and first-time nonviolent theft cases very commonly end in probation, restitution or pretrial diversion instead of prison. I don’t remember whether Mia has been arrested before, so I’m assuming this is a first offense, and that matters. What we don’t know yet: any priors, whether she takes a plea, whether restitution gets made and which judge draws the case. A decade behind bars for allegedly taking furniture is not the probable result. Same with Wendy and Eddie Osefo. We shall see.

That Was a Read, and Potomac Doesn’t Have Enough of Them

Sidebar. We were just talking about Gizelle and her father’s will, and if you missed that video, go back, because she left out some critical details last season about why she lost. The short version is that an older will from 2006 didn’t leave her anything either. So a person named Dominic on Twitter said Dorothy would never write Candiace and Crystal out of her will, meaning Candiace’s mom, and Candiace reposted it with the line you just read above. Yikes. Some of y’all are going to say this is why you don’t like Candiace, it’s too dark. Okay. But Gizelle has been coming for Candiace’s neck ever since Candiace left the show, with snarky remark after snarky remark, and Gizelle is the one who put it out there on Ultimate Girls Trip that Candiace was allegedly fired. Nobody calls Gizelle out on her own business, because most people won’t do what she does. She’ll produce television no matter how dark it gets, and nobody holds her accountable for it. That’s what’s missing on Potomac. I’ll give it to Karen, I’ll give it to Wendy, and Stacey has her moments too.

Not My Tea Getting Confirmed in One Week

No Chaser TV posted a sneak peek from the Season 11 premiere, and it shows Karen Huger’s storyline, where it seems like she and Ray might be going their separate ways, plus a fight between Karen and Gizelle that literally gets physical. If you came to Kempire After Dark or grabbed the live stream, you already knew, because I spilled that there. From what I understand, the two of them are in a good place now. Do they like each other? As much as you can like somebody you don’t like. As for Mia, anytime you walk out of a reunion like she did in Season 9, that usually means it’s dunzo. What turned people off was how she used G’s mental health as a storyline, and it was gross to watch. And the one person trying to get her out of jail after that arrest was G. Crazy to me. Did Candiace go too far, or did Gizelle have that one coming? And do you think Mia sees any real time? Let me know in the comments. Here we go.
